The Moth Radio Hour: now with added Weddell.

My entry in last year’s Moth in Melbourne grand slam event has been incorporated into an episode of “The Moth Radio Hour” and broadcast all over North America. There’s been a spike in episode downloads, some donations to the paypal, and an inquiry about ice diving equipment in the wake of this exposure and I’m so pleased that that five minute taste of my enthusiasm for Antarctica has touched so many people.
I’m grateful for the opportunities The Moth makes available for people to share their stories and gratified Emily and her colleagues thought my effort warranted inclusion among the stories it shares time on air with.
Thanks, The Moth.

You can download the episode here.

Hey Matt. I’m one of the moth listeners who heard your story and went straight to download the Ice Coffee podcast. As an Australian with a keen interest in Antarctica, exploration stories, podcasts, earth science and coffee I’m amazed I hadn’t found you sooner! One positive of finding your podcast late in the game has been the opportunity to binge listen and cover decades of history in a few weeks. Thanks for your work, it’s reignited my interest in Antarctic history and it seems to me that your wry sense of humour provides the perfect tone for relaying these tales.

      Hi Madeleine
      Thanks for getting in touch.
Hope the slow pace of the series doesn’t disappoint after the binge comes to an end.
My humour wasn’t always this dry. Too long on a desert continent left it a desicated husk of its former self. Properly hydrated it’s all fart jokes and slapstick.
